All these fat piggy's...
Interesting. And why wouldn’t they?
When the faux president can say, “Hush, piggy,” to a female journalist at a White House briefing on national media and not one male reporter speaks out.
When South Carolina tried (and failed, thankfully) to pass the harshest anti abortion law ever.
When it’s taken twenty years to address the rapists and perpetrators connected with Epstein. When the names of the abusers are remembered, but not the names of the victims.
When woman are having their rights stripped daily by the Supreme Court of the land, with full collusion by the Administration and Legislature.
Why wouldn’t women, LGBTQ, people of color, disabled, senior and all other vulnerable humans want to leave this country that no longer respects or protects their rights? When people are pulled out of their cars by armed thugs and beaten and assaulted and disappeared.
And who will be left in America? A country of fat old white men (pigs) and angry young white men (pigs), with a slaughterhouse of bodies in facilities built by billionaires (pigs) and politicians (pigs) who’s bloated lives were built on the backs of American workers. For decades, our work fed the coffers of the ones who now starve and imprision us, while stuffing their faces in gold ballrooms.
Honestly, I left America before and I could leave America again. I’ve lived less than half my adult life on this mainland. I am holding out now because I still choose to hope that the tide is turning, will turn, and the real piggies will be herded to the abattoir.
I hold out hope everyday that the final bell will ring on this decade of horror. I hope everyday, with so many of us, that this experiment in democracy, as flawed as it may have been historically, will not be stomped into the pig sty of greedy, evil, angry, fearful, petty, ignorant, abusers of humanity’s future.
Everyday, we hope and speak out and do what we can to hold the line and push back the tide of greedy fat pigs, pushing them back into the sty, until they can be made into sausage and fed to the hounds of hell.
I spoke to a friend in another country recently about the tide of fascism worldwide, of incels and angry white men, everywhere. This is not just America’s battle. You can leave here and find the same pigs in Europe, in Israel, in Asia, in Africa, in South America, in China, in Russia. We are fighting, not just for America, but for all of humanity.
This is a tide of pigs that must be stopped. Our very survival as a species may depend on what we do today. The choices we make. The silence or the noise each one of us makes today will create tomorrow for us all.
